Ghana has made history as the first African country to participate in three separate World Cup tournaments this year, APA learns here Tuesday.
First was the senior national team, Ghana Black Stars, who are scheduled to participate in the elite World Cup in South Africa in June this year.
Also, the Ghanaian female Under-20 team is scheduled to participate for the second time in their world championships in Germany this year while the female Under 17 team is also billed for the Trinidad and Tobago world championships for women under 17 in September this year.
Ghanaian soccer fans on Tuesday expressed happiness about the turn of events and applauded the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as well as President John Evans Atta Mills for the support they gave to the three teams to qualify for the world tournaments.
