Ghana is yet to break the jinx of Martha Bissah at the summer youth Olympics after ending this year's edition without a medal.

Ghana paraded five athletes in four events, but the best achievements from the athletes were improvements upon their respective personal bests.

Eighteen-year-old swimmer Abeiku Jackson, for instance, improved on his time in the 100m butterfly event, reducing it by 0.28 seconds.

Sandra Mensimah Owusu, 18, who participated in the women's weightlifting competition lifted 75kg for the first time.

Solomon Diafo who was Ghana's only hope for a medal finished eighth overall in the 400m event. Ghanaian officials who were in Buenos Aires will be expected to make inputs to the All Africa Games bid committee following their observations from the Youth Olympics.

The Games will officially close on Thursday, October 18. At the last count of the medal table on day seven of the games, the only African countries visible on the medal table are Egypt who have two gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.

They are followed by South Africa with two gold and one silver. Tunisia have one gold, one silver, and one bronze. Russia still leads the pack with a total of 43 medals made up of 24 gold, 11 silver, and eight bronze.
