Faroe Islands club B71 Sandoy has appointed Ghanaian footballer Tijani Mohammed as the head coach of their female side.

Tijani, 29, still plays for the second-tier side and has been handed the head coach job of the female side in a mentoring program.

Mohammed will be completing his UEFA License B coaching course by the end of this year.

Mohammed will be perfecting his coaching skills and ideas with the female team of Faroe Islands' second-tier side.

Mohammed started his footballing career with Takoradi based lower-tier side Future Stars Academy before traveling to the tiny European country.

He has already begun work since given the opportunity as his side won 4-1 in their first league match of the season on Monday.
