Abuja, Nigeria, Oct. 8, GNA - Mr Africanus Mensah, a Ghanaian petrol chemical engineer is playing a major role in the organisation of the Eighth All Africa Games in Abuja, Nigerian.
The Ghanaian is the Managing Director of Schlumberger West Africa, the official Information Technology (IT) Partners of the Games who are responsible for facilitating the availability of information to the world media.
Mr Mensah told the GNA Sports in an exclusive interview that Schlumberger has built an infrastructure to provide time result management from all venues.
He said they are also responsible for event management, which involves accurate event information, media information, high-speed internet access for the Games Village and the International Broadcasting Centre.
The Engineer who has been with Schlumberger for almost 18 years revealed that the company's operations are bilateral as they are 70 per cent into oil and 30 per cent into IT.
He said he has worked in 11 countries, including Colombia, Brazil, The United States, Canada, France, The United Kingdom, Angola and France.
The Schlumberger boss attended Sekondi College before moving on to the University of Texas.
Mr Jacob Henry Mensah and Madam Janet Mensah of Sekondi are the parents of this proud Ghanaian, who is married with three children, an eight year-old girl and two boys, aged six and two.
