Former team manager and defender of Asante Kotoko, George Asare has admonished Ghanaian coaches to seek new knowledge about their profession and do away with their old coaching tactics.
He said it is the only way Ghanaian coaches can improve themselves to ultimately help Ghana football.
According to George Asare, Ghanaian coaches are often branded lazy because of their failure to upgrade their CAF, UEFA and FIFA coaching courses to improve on their coaching skills while the game’s trend is changing rapidly with technology.
In an interview with DS Sports on YouTube, George Asare said “I will tell them (football fans) that the football trend is changing and Ghanaian coaches are not learning and I will advise them to continue learning and stop sticking to the old coaching system that they are used to simply because some of them are old players.”
“Day in, day out, they should keep on learning and go in for refresher courses and I think they can take Ghana football to a different level with that improved knowledge, “he added.
George Asare was part of the Asante Kotoko team that won the Ghana Premier League in the 2007/2008 season.
