Ghanaian duo David Abagna Sandan and Kingsley Sarfo won the Cypriot Super Cup with APOEL Nicosia on Wednesday night after beating Paphos FC in the final.

APOEL lifted the coveted trophy at the Alphamega Stadium following a 1-0 victory over Paphos. They won the title again after 2019.

Sarfo scored the only goal of the match as early as the first minute, helping the Cypriot giants clinch the Super Cup title for the 14th time, three shy of record winners AC Omonia Nicosia.

The former Ghana international started the match and lasted the entire duration.

Abagna was introduced right after the interval, replacing experienced Spanish midfielder Sergio Tejera.

Sarfo has made seven appearances across all competitions for APOEL since the start of the 2024-25 season, scoring twice in the process.

Abagna joined the club this summer after impressing in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualifications with Moldovan club Petrocub Hincesti.
