Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan has revealed that the attraction of Venezia FC's project was the driving force behind his decision to join the Serie A club.
The 31-year-old has penned a contract with the Winged Lions that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2025/2026 season, with an option for renewal.
"I chose to come to Venezia FC because of the project that was presented to me by the club and the coach and I am really proud to be part of it. In past years I have been shown how it is never easy to play at the Penzo because of the energy of the fans. That’s why I ask all of them to always support us because we will give everything to get to the goal," Duncan told Venezia media.
Duncan, who came through the youth ranks at Inter, has a wealth of Serie A experience, with 304 appearances, 14 goals, and 17 assists under his belt. He has previously played for Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Cagliari, and Fiorentina.
At the international level, Duncan has represented Ghana 10 times and has also played in the Conference League and Europa League qualifiers and finals. He joins Venezia following the expiration of his contract with Fiorentina, where he scored two goals and provided five assists in 41 matches last season.
