It was a bad day at the office for Ghana international Daniel Amartey as Leicester City and West Ham United settled for a 1-1 draw in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Deployed at right-back, the 23-year-old had a terrible end to the game after picking an ankle injury from a challenge with Michail Antonio.
The Black Star appeared to have snapped his ankle, and had to be stretchered off the pitch in an incident that happened towards the end of the game.
Although Leicester are yet to confirm the extent of the injury, reports say Amartey could be out for a long time.
It will certainly be a blow to the utility man, who, following a nightmarish season opener against Manchester United, appears to be recovering his mojo, having had a run of decent games.
He has featured in nine league matches involving seven starts so far this season.
Since Saturday's game, football fans have been sending messages of support, particularly on social media.
His compatriots, who are likely to miss him when Ghana face Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying next month, have not been left out.
