Ghanaian para cycling prospect Alem Mumuni has excelled at the Union Cycling International (UCI) Para Cycling in Montichiari, Italy.

Mumuni who has participated in numerous para cycling events across the world since 2013 has improved on his points build up which has made him an automatic choice for selection to the Paralympics in Rio this September.

In an interview with sportscrusader.com from his base in Lisbon (Portugal), Mumuni said, “the level of competition was high because 10 countries had not qualified and were also biding for the five slots at stake, but I was able to make it to the Olympics”.

“I will be going to Rio waiting for this confirmation by the third week in April,” he added.

The Sole representative of the country at the event is expected to be back in Ghana by Friday, despite the hold up of his traveling schedule because of the Brussels attack earrlier this week.
