Ghanaian quintet picked for global tournament

Five potential world class players from Ghana have been selected to play for Africa in an international tournament in Abu Dhabi later this month.

They will play against Spanish side Valencia, Marseille of France and Santos of Brazil for the tournament which starts on 15 January.

Black Starlets playmaker Aaron Amoah will lead the African side at the 2nd Al Ain International Youth Soccer Tournament.

He will leave the country on Friday along with his Flying Jets team-mates Rahim Osman and Issah Abubakar.

Bechem Chelsea duo of Afriyie Acquah and Fred Addo will also join the African side for the tournament which ends on 25 January.

The rest of the African players were selected from Nigeria and Senegal.

UK based FIFA Agent, Joel Laryea, worked with the event event organisers- French based Ralph Nkomoand Mikael Jakobsson - in putting the African team together.

Laryea told Ghanasoccernet: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the lads. I am looking forward to seeing how they fair against some of the world's top youth players."

Other teams playing at the tournament Raja Casablanca of Morocco, Egyptian club Al Ahly the UAE National Team and hosts Al Ain.
