Ghanaian test for Scot

UNBEATEN Scottish super-middleweight ace Kenny Anderson has been handed the chance to spar with Ghanaian ring ace Charles Adamu.

The Craigmillar boxing prospect will train with the former Commonwealth title contender next week as he continues preparations for his bout on the Alex Arthur v. Steve Foster undercard on December 15.

Anderson, who sees the move as further proof of Sportsnetwork's intention to promotehim as a successor to Nottingham's British and Commonwealth supermiddleweight champion, Carl Froch said: "Adamu is quality so it can only help make me ultra-sharp for my forthcoming fight at Meadowbank. It is also a clear sign to me that talk of Sportsnetwork fast-tracking me towards a title in 2008 isn't just hype.''

"I'll spar with Adamu and Englishman Tony Bellew in Glasgow next week under the eye of my ring coach, Billy Nelson."

Meanwhile, seven Glenrothes amateur boxing club boxers will fight in front of inmates at Shotts Prison tomorrow.

Glenrothes club coach, Steve McGuire confirmed: "It will be a good and different experience."

Fauldhouse club are staging a 12-bout bill on Friday evening.
