Ghanaian winger David Atanga has joined Austrian club Wolfsberger AC during the current transfer window. The 27-year-old signed a permanent deal after his contract with Belgian side KV Oostende expired.

Atanga's new contract is for two years, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Atanga is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the Wolfsberger squad for the upcoming season. He is familiar with Austrian football, having previously played for RB Salzburg, SKN St. Pölten, and Admira Wacker.

He moved from Ghana to join Red Bull Salzburg in January 2015, initially playing for FC Liefering. Atanga also made appearances for Red Bull Salzburg in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and Europa League qualifiers.

After several loan spells in Austria and Germany, he spent the last three seasons at KV Oostende, where he scored eleven goals and provided two assists in 74 appearances.

Although he has not yet earned a cap with Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars, Atanga has represented Ghana at the U17 and U20 levels.
