Ghanaians have an interest in the Russian league with much-travelled Ghanaian forward Prince Koranteng Amoako.
He arrived from Sporting Cristal in Peru in South America, where he reached the final of the Copa Libertadores.
Amoako has signed for Saturn, the team that finished sixth in the league.
The only wrong note for African players in Russia was the relegation of Nigerian Louis Udoh and Ghanaian Baba Adamu at Chernomorets Novorossiisk to the second division.

Rapid Bucharest have threatened to quit the Romanian championship after abandoning Sunday's game with Brasov because they were not awarded a penalty. Brasov, with Dossey in post, were winning 1-0 courtesy of a strike from forward Emerich Vascko at the time of the incident. They stayed on until the referee blew his whistle. They may see the result upgraded to a 3-0 victory.
