Former National Organiser of the ruling NDC Party and an executive member of the Ghana Football Association, Yaw Boateng Gyan, has called on all to rally behind the Black Stars.
“The team was willing to win and make Ghanaians proud, they played their hearts out and rather unfortunately they failed. That again, history has repeated itself just as they did to us in Senegal in 1992, the Ivory Coast have done it again to us.
“Having gone that close in winning the trophy, rather too far from winning, I think it was too painful,” he said.
According to him, Ghanaians talk too much with respect to the Senior national team.
“When we are going into a tournament of this nature, we should be circumspect and take out certain sentiments and rally behind the team for victory,” he added.
"We talk to this players and all they need from Ghanaians is your support and prayers,”
He reminded that, the Brazil incident is a thing of the past; but rather, we should support the Black Stars in their quest to win the trophy for the people of this country since winning the trophy in 1982.
The Ghana has not won the AFCON for 33-years now and lost on 9-8 penalties to the Ivory Coast at the just ended tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
