Give Jordan time - Grant

Ghana coach Avram Grant has called on those criticising striker Jordan ayew to wait till the end of the tournament.

The tournament has hit the knockout stage, yet the Israeli trainer says the competition is still young to pronounce judgment on his charges representing the nation in Equatorial Guinea.

“Give Jordan a break, it is too early to determine which player is doing well or not. He is still learning.

The end of the tournament will determine which player is good or bad,” Grant said.

Jordan Ayew has a lot of action in the ongoing competition - getting starting roles in all three Group games involving Senegal, Algeria and South Africa - yet he has not scored a single goal.

He came close to registering his name on the score sheet in the Ghana-South Africa game, but his effort was thwarted twice in succession.

The Lille forward was later substituted for light skinned Kwasi Appiah in the latter part of the game at the Estadio de Mongomo.
