Accra, March 1, GNA - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has tied March 5 as
the closing date for the media accreditation for the 2009 Glo-CAF Awards ceremony slated
for Accra on March 11. The procedure which is already in progress, according to CAF is accessible on the CAF
online (cafonline.com) and the official websites of Globacom Limited. A communiqu=E9 released to GNA Sports in Accra said only accredited Journalists would
be admitted into the State House, Accra where Ghana's Michael Essien competes with
Didier Drogba of Cote d'Ivoire and Samuel Eto'e Fils of Cameroon for the topmost award. The communiqu=E9 explained that the accreditation procedure has been put in place to
ensure orderliness and provision of easy access to the venue.
"The awards ceremony is to a large extent, a media event and Globaco= m and CAF highly
appreciate the contributions of the media to the growing international stature of the
event. We will continue to provide the enabling environment for the media= to cover the
event and also enjoy the experience". It said the award of accreditation is strictly the prerogative of CA= F and Globacom and
that any forms returned after Friday, March 5, will not be considered."
