Newly crowned IBF Continental Africa featherweight champion, Holy Dorgbetor AKA Jaw Breaker has received the blessings of the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II to achieve much bigger feats during his boxing career and go all the way to win a world championship.

Young Dorgbetor, a former Ghana featherweight champion, went a step up by annexing the IBF Continental Africa featherweight strap following a round 7 stoppage victory over Hamadi Furahisha of Tanzania in Accra last month.

It improved the undefeated career record of the native of Mepe in the Volta Region of Ghana to 11 wins, one draw, and zero defeats with 7 KOs to match. It is the third career title for the 25-year-old who previously also held the Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) featherweight crown in 2021.

And young Dorgbetor who trains and lives within the Ga community which many of Ghana’s boxing world champions have inhabited on the way to their respective global triumphs, has wisely decided to seek the support and blessings of the overlord of the area in his quest to rule the world of fistic sport.

The new African champion, with full support of his management at ACE Power Promotions, led by Head of Corporate Affairs, Kizito Akudago and Operations Manager, Emmanuel Koranteng paid a courtesy visit to the king of the Ga people at his Palace and he was warmly welcomed.

“Congratulations to you on winning the new title, we are proud of you. We appreciate your decision to present the belt to the Ga Mantse, it shows that you know and respect tradition,” said a spokesperson on behalf of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

“We warmly welcome you, we have accepted you and written your name in our books. We give you all our blessings to go out there and be very successful in your career. Well done for bringing this title but we want you to now go on and bring a world title, you have our full support,” he added.

Dorgbetor was beside himself with joy after personally interacting and presenting the belt to the king of Accra and is sounding lyrical, amid a new vow to become a world champion.

“I feel proud and happy. This is my first time meeting Ga Mantse and I’m grateful for the wonderful reception and the words of encouragement and support. I am very grateful,” Dorgbetor said.

“I am so happy and I feel like doing more, I see it a duty now to win a world title just for the king. I want to return here again one day with the world title, I want to make him proud,” added the IBF Africa champ.
