After almost 30 years of active football, former Black Stars goalkeeper Edward Ansah has gone into retirement.
The widely traveled goalkeeper kept posts in several countries in Africa and Asia and is undoubtedly one of Ghana’s goal keeping legends.
He finished his career in India with Churchill Brothers.
But Eddie Ansah’s last days for Ghana were unpleasant to say the least.
He attained villain status when he was picked by German coach Bukhard Ziese to star for the Black Stars in the crucial qualifying matches for the 2004 African cup of Nations against Uganda and Rwanda.
Ansah’s critics said he was too old to be keeping posts for Ghana. He was subsequently dropped from the squad.
