Obuasi: 9 June A goal scored in the fourth minute of the second half of the extra time, gave Obuasi Goldfields the passport to the semi-finals of the competition when they beat Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 in their match at the Len Clay stadium. But Dwarfs should blame themselves for their exit for not rpt not utilising a good number of scoring chances including a ninth-minute penalty awarded them by Accra-based FIFA referee Joseph Wellington. After a goallesss first half, Dwarfs' left winger Stehpen Owusu, in a good position to give his side the opener, shot over the bar. Goldfields substituted inside left Kingsley Osei with Joe Debrah in the 50th minute and 10 minutes later, Kofi Deblah denied the Homesters the leader when he failed to connect a beautiful cross from substitute Haruna Gariba. Dwarfs, who had earlier in the 41st minute replaced Fussein Abubakari with Osei Michael, brought on John Plange for Stephen Owusu. Goldfields wasted a 73rd-minute corner kick when inside right Joe Okyere's powerful drive was pushed to a corner by goalkeeper Frederick Ollenu. Goldfields had to wait till the 82nd minute before scoring the opener through substitute Gariba from a Joe Debrah's pass. Dwarfs, who last week lost 0-3 to Goldfields in a premier league match, replaced Winger Frank Adjei with Emmanuel Sackey in the 85th minute. The substitution yielded dividends as Dwarfs snatched the equaliser a minute later from a float by Sackey which was converted by Abedi Tuga with a header to send the game into extra time. Centre forward Kofi Deblah scored the winner four minutes inside the second half of the extra time with a header.
