Champion club Obuasi Goldfields, preparing for their African Club Champions' league match against Club Africaine of Tunisia on Saturday, held the Black Stars to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi yesterday. The Black Stars scored first in the 20th minute through youngster Wisdom Abbey, who collected a neat pass from right winger Princeton Owusu Ansah and fired past keeper Nibombe Wake of Goldfields. Goldfields right winger Lawrence Adjei in the 30th minute failed to cancel the Stars' lead when in a good position to score, shot wide to the surprise of the sparse crowd. A minute inside injury time of the first half, the Stars were reduced to 10 men when Yaw Sakyi was sent off by FIFA referee Mike Amedor for attracting two yellow cards. On resumption, both teams made a number of changes but it was Goldfields who benefited as Kwabena Boateng snatched the equaliser for them in the 86th minute. A minute before the equaliser, the Stars suffered another set back when they were reduced to nine men as Prince Adu Poku was shown the red card for a dangerous tackle on Goldfields' Eben Dadzie.
