The outgoing Captain of the Royal Golf club Prof. Bernard Baiden and his counterpart CY Nyarko have finished their term on high.
Crowning their successful term with a special golf competition and a dinner at the club over the weekend, the duo donated a new presentation table and chairs to the club.
They also gave away 250 scorecards and tee to the club for use by guests golfers.
Recounted the challenges faced by the Committee over the past year, Professor Baiden pointed out that through financially prudent measures the 2015 Executive Committee succeeded in purchasing two new tractor mowers and a brand new tractor for the club.
He further indicated that plans are well advanced for the purchase of a gang mower and slasher to add to the equipment stock of the club. Prof Baiden announced a new 5-year partnership agreement with DDP Outdoor Ltd for all advertising franchise at the golf club and promised to finalise the deal before leaving office by the end of the year.
He urged all members to support the very people they elect as their leaders to help move the club forward.
The avid golfer called for cooperation from all members of the club in the management of affairs and pledged to assist whoever becomes the next Captain in any capacity that is given to him.
Constance Awuni emerged tops in the Lady Captain’s event, with a net score of 70. Rahida Khalil beat Raina Asiamah on count back with a score of 75 for the second position.
Chris Osafo Kumah won the Men’s Support after a 61 net score (playing to a course par of 65). He was followed by Mike Adu-Domfe with a score of 63 and E Asabere returned a net score of 65 to take the third position.
EA Prempeh returned a net score of 68 to grab the ultimate prize in the main event, while E Asabere returned a net score of 70 to take the second position with Samuel Frimpong, the Vice-Captain taking the third position with a net score of 72.
G.Palmer with a net score of 68. She also took home a magnificent trophy and a Kumasi-Accra-Kumasi ticket from AWA. Constance Awuni followed with a 70net with Nelly Hage finishing third with a 71 net.
