To say Ghana Golf Association (GGA) President, Mike Aggrey has played a key role in the development of the sport in the country is an understatement.

In the 21 years of his golfing career, he has been a reference point and the history of Ghana golf will not be complete without mentioning his name.

Even before he assumed the top seat of the GGA office, he was very instrumental in the previous administration where he acted as the Vice President.

Prior to that, he was Competitions Secretary, Handicap Member, Vice-Captain and Captain of Achimota Golf Club from 1997 to 2011.

Under his belt, the sport has witnessed regular golf sessions aimed at equipping the media with modern day golf reporting, organization of the maiden Ghana Golf Awards, the introduction of golf in schools and several other initiatives.

And as he turns 60 on 7th November, 2016, the GGA boss has indicated that he has more up his sleeves to roll out for the development of golf in Ghana.

He said in an interview that, “My goal is to make Golf a household name in Ghana, and to demystify the notion that it is a game for the elite”.

The GGA boss is married to Mrs. Felicia Aggrey with 3 children, who he said have been supportive of his successful golfing career.
