Golfers gear up for Peugeot Qualifier

Tema, June 20, GNA - All is set for the Greater Accra Regional qualifier of the Peugeot Challenge Golf Championship, which tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, June 25. The entry requirement for the competition, which is being sponsored by Prestige Motors Company Limited is Handicap 24 for the Men while the Ladies Handicap is 27.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Country Golf Club said that out of the 150 participants at the qualifying stage, 40 of the winners would take part in the final championship event at the Achimota Golf Course on Saturday, July 2.

He expressed the hope that the participating golfers would give of their best since the Tema course has been rehabilitated and that they would be in a better frame of mind to perform creditably when they represent Ghana for the International Peugeot event slated for August this year.

The winners of the Men and Ladies categories in the finals would battle their counterparts from other 30 countries for the ultimate in the International Peugeot event.

Robert Aziamakpor and Beatrice Vetsche-Bempong of the Achimota Golf Club represented Ghana last year but failed to win the ultimate. Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, President of the Tema Golf Club would be assisted by Mr Yaw Kwakye, General Manager, (Commercial) of Prestige Motors Company would present prizes to the winners. 20 June 05
