Golfers gear up for Tema Captain's Prize

Tema, Feb.6, GNA - All is set for this year's Tema Country Golf Club Captain's Prize Championship scheduled for Tema on Saturday, February 11.

More than 100 amateur golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs are expected to participate in the One-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club told the GNA Sports on Monday that the competition, which is being sponsored by Mr Kofi Gyau, Captain of the Tema Golf Club, would be played under the rules of the World's Golf governing body and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club.

He said the club is upgrading the course to ensure that it is in good playing condition.

Golfers who had already signed up for the competition include John Sam, Wisdom Asempa, Charles Tabi and Kwame Saarah-Mensah all of Achimota Golf Club.

The Ladies category would also be fiercely fought wit veteran Mona Captan and Ama Morgan both of Achimota and Florence Etwi-Barimah, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong, Esther Antwi and Esther Bhavnani all of Tema would be battling each other for supremacy. Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, President of the Tema Country Golf Club and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs would be the Special Guest of Honour.
