All 20 players of the Black Starlets passed the MRI test which was conducted by the CAF Medical team in Niger on Saturday, September 1.

Coach Karim Zito was forced to drop two of his key players after they failed the MRI test in Ghana, but all the 20 players named by Karim Zito for CAF Under-17 qualifying tournament passed the final test conducted by CAF Medical team.

“Having gone through an independent MRI testing prior to departure, the Liaison team is proud to announce that, the Ghana Under 17 team, Black Starlets, is the only team that successfully went through the pre-tournament MRI test under the supervision of CAF medical team in Niger.

“Team Benin has been sent home after more than half of its players failed the MRI test.

“Neighboring Nigeria and Ivory Coast had two players each sent home, whilst Niger, Burkina and Togo recorded one failure each.

“The Liaison Team owes gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for footing the bills of the preliminary MRI bone scan done in Ghana.

“We congratulate the entire playing body and the technical team for scaling this hurdle whilst reminding you that qualification for Poland 2019 is the ultimate.

“We beseech every Ghanaian to support the team in prayers” the Liaison team said in a press release.
