President of the Ghana Athletics Association, Bawa Fuseini, has explained that the government is yet to allocate bonuses for Team Ghana athletes at the 2024 Olympic Games.

With just a few days to the start of the 2024 Olympic Games, Ghana's team will only be relying on their per diems for preparation.

Bawa Fuseini stated that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is yet to allocate funds to athletes who will win medals for the country.

In an interview on Happy Sports, Bawa Fuseini disclosed that the government will cater for the team's per diems.

"In terms of per diems, we have been told what we are going to get for both athletes and officials. It will be paid from when we start camping until we finish our events at the Games."

"But for bonuses or what they will get for winning medals, we don’t know the monetary allocation for that," Bawa said on Happy Sports.

Team Ghana will have 21 representatives at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
