Granada’s Aboagye delighted with senior team debut

Ghanaian youngster Clifford Aboagye has revealed his delight at making his senior debut for Granada Thursday.

The 19-year-old former Inter Allies attacking midfielder made his competitive debut for Granada after coming on as a 74 minutes substitute for Spanish international Iván Sánchez-Rico when Granada lost 2-1 at home to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey.

Aboagye, who was voted the world's third best youth player at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey two years ago, was, however, sad with the loss.

“I’m very happy to have made my debut for Granada. It makes me feel really proud and I’ll keep on working hard to get more opportunities and I hope to play again many more times,” Aboagye told Goal Ghana.

“Unfortunately, we didn't win and the result went against us but I just want to keep working. I'm really tranquil because I did my best.”

He added: “I felt really happy when I went onto the pitch because people were supporting me a lot. I'm learning all the time and glad with the support, I'm grateful to the fans and the coach.”
