Ghana coach Avram Grant does not believe fielding Andre Ayew in today’s friendly game against Mali will make the Olympic Marseille winger tired for the crucial Ligue 1 clash against PSG on Sunday.
There are fears that the 25-year-old, whose only win as captain of the Black Stars was when Ghana beat Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final, will be drained by Sunday.
“They are playing on Sunday. We are playing on Tuesday. Five days is enough time to rest and recover,” the ex-Chelsea boss told the media.
“It depends on the player, but we will see how the player is and I will analyze the situation and take a decision. But, I think five days is enough time to recover and be well.”
Third place Marseille, who have 57 points, will topple PSG and seize the top spot on the Ligue 1 table if they are able to win at the Stade Velodrome this weekend.
