The vice president of the Ghana FA Fred Crentsil has said Black Stars’ head coach Avram Grant ”is more or less a technical director” for all national teams in Ghana.
Grant is expected to give Sellas Tetteh technical direction in the upcoming Under-20 Africa Youth Championship in Senegal - a decision many think could bring conflict in the team.
But Crentsil has clarified the Israeli is not taking over the job from the Ghanaian.
“He (Avram Grant) is more or less a technical director for all the national teams (in Ghana)," Crentsil said to Joy FM.
“He will assist them (other national team coaches) in the technical directions of the teams once he gets to their training sessions.”
“He will be there (in Senegal) and if there are any lapses, he will correct these lapses - he is not taking over the team; the team is still being handled by Sellas Tetteh, but if there is anything he thinks should be done one way or the other, he will advise the coaches,” Crentsil stated.
The ex-Chelsea boss was given 10 days leave by the Ghana FA after the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea and expected in Ghana over the weekend.
