Ghana coach Avram Grant has hogged the headlines in Russia following reports linking him to Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan.
The Israeli trainer is said to be one of the shortlisted coaches for the top position at the Club.
Grant has been in the news of an imminent departure as Black Stars coach after earlier reports linked him to English Premier League Club Chelsea.
The former Chelsea boss has been shortlisted together with former Portugal Coach Carlos Queiroz and ex-Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish.
“There were proposals from Rubin Kazan for Avram Grant, Carlos Queiroz and Alex McLeish, “ Rubin Kazan President Ilsur Metshin told Russian online portal, the Business Gazeta.
“These are football coaches who are experienced in the Uefa Champions League and Europa League and gave their previous clubs results.”
“The information about the negotiation with the legend of Romanian football Gheorghe Hagi is not true. His agent rang us and requested that we examine his candidacy but we did not discuss even 3 million Euros as a payment. This is a media report,” he added.
The Black Stars coach could hence be reuniting with Ghana International Mubarak Wakasu who plays for the Russian Club but currently on loan at Spanish outfit Las Palmas.
Grant still has a running contract with the Ghana football Association until 2017.
The former Portsmouth manager was appointed as Black Stars coach in December 2014 and led the team to finish second in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
