Grant wins Telecom Invitational Golf

Accra, Aug. 22, GNA-Robert Grant returned 64 net to win the maiden Ghana Telecom Invitational Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.

Grant, who played 46 In and 48 Out with a handicap of 28 will now be playing to a new handicap of 27.

Paul Owusu-Baah came second with 69 net while Gil Recizac placed third with 70 net.

In the Ladies event, Betty Allotey beat Margaret Owusu-Baah on count-back after they had both returned 64 net to emerge champion with the third position going to Ariane Recizac who returned 67 net.

The one-day 18-hole Stableford competition attracted more than 100 amateur golfers from Tema, Achimota and Bok Nam Kim Golf clubs. Mr Samuel Adetola, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club praised Ghana Telecom for their sponsorship and called on other corporate bodies to help develop the sport.

Mr Oystein Bjorge, Managing Director of Telecom was assisted by Nana Antwi-Boasiako the Board Chairman to present the prizes to the winners.
