Ghana Premier League side Accra Great Olympics have indicated their readiness to offer imprisoned prisoned goalie Arhin Boagye a chance to realize his dream.
Arhin Aboagye’s immense goalkeeping talent came to light during a documentary by TV3’s Juliet Bawuah titled ‘Football Behind Bars’.
Arhin Aboagye exhibited extream abilities during the Prison’s Champion of Champions Cup which is a season finale to the league organized by the Service every year.
Aboagye in the documentary, narrated how ‘truant and deviant’ behavior derailed his once promising goalkeeping career.
He also mentioned Cameroon and Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana as his mentor.
The documentary has been shared on various social media platforms, catching the eye of Andre Onana who promised to send him a signed jersey and goalkeeping gloves.
Reacting to the heartwarming video via twitter Accra Great Olympics said they are prepared to hand him trials.
Some Ghanaians have also called on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, GFA and the Ghana Prisons Service to pardon him as he special talent that could help the country.
They add that the prisoner who has served six year of his nine-year sentence has shown enough remorse to merit a pardon.
Bring him to us...we'd love to give him a chance.
