Guinness Gives ?100m To Stars

Guinness Ghana has declared that the current trend of losses by the Black Stars could be turned around and the team returned to its glorious winning ways if the nation provides continuous, unfledging support to the Stars and unshakable belief in the squad.

Mr. Delvin Hainsaworth, managing Director of Guinness Ghana, made the observation when he presented a sponsorship package to the Black Stars squad on Tuesday. The presentation took place at Obuasi where the Stars are camped in preparation for Sunday’s crucial match against Uganda at Kumasi.

The Guinnesss package consisted of ?100m cash, assorted Guinness Ghana products, training kits and a promised additional winning bonus.

“Guinness stands for quality and performance,” Mr. Hainsworth reminded the Squad, as he urged them to demonstrate those same qualities in order to beat the Cranes, go through the CAN 2004 qualifying series successfully and achieve glory at the tournament to be held in Tunisia next year.

Hon. Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, said Guinness had come in to motivate the Stars at a time when the squad was in real need. He called on the players to fully repay the Guinness gesture by heating Uganda on Sunday.
