Ghanaian youth pair of Bright Gyamfi and Samuel Appiah are in pole position to win the Italian Primavera TIM Cup 2015/2016 after defeating rivals Juventus 1-0 in the first-leg tie of the grand finale.

The duo, 20 and 18 respectively, played a key role for the young Nerazzurris at the Juventus Arena on Thursday as Mattia Bonetto struck the only goal of the clash in the 27th minute.

Gyamfi and Appiah could be crowned champions on Wednesday if they defeat Juventus in the second-leg tie at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter Primavera manager Stefano Vecchi handed starting role to Gyamfi in his defence and the former Anokye Stars defender excelled at the lateral defence.

The striker Samuel Appiah was also introduced with six minutes from full-time and he made an immediate impact by missing narrowly with a well-taken shot.

Appiah has been at Inter since 2012 and has now graduated to the second string side while Gyamfi joined two years ago from Ghanaian side Anokye Stars.
