Gyan: I will not rush my comeback

Asamoah Gyan has made it clear that he will not rush his comeback but is determined to return fully fit for Ghana.

The 24 year-old Ghana striker is hoping to make a full recovery from a hamstring injury by the time the Africa Nations Cup starts in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea on January 21.

“Like i said before when I am 100% fit everyone knows what I can do so the most important thing is to get fit first,” Gyan said on Thursday afternoon as he arrived in Accra from his base in the UAE.

“I am really important to the team and I will do anything possible to get fit for the Nations Cup."

Nevertheless, Robben is not yet 100 percent fit, and says he wants to take things one step at a time.

Gyan, Ghana's leading striker says he wants to take things one step at a time and explains that the Black Stars have more options to pick from in his absence.

“I will try to get fit but if I am unable, I believe there are other players who can play, the Black Stars is an all-round team and I wouldn’t want to draw the team back,” he said.
