Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan admits he is itching to feature in the Shanghai derby against Shenhua who will be parading their big-money buy Demba Ba.

SIPG are billed to face Shenhua in the big Shanghai derby next month – first in the Cup and then in the league.

Gyan who has already hit the ground running for his new Chinese club will have the chance to at least prove his is better than Demba Ba when the two face off against each other for their respective sides.

Both players missed the chance to play against each while in England – during which period Gyan played for Sunderland while Demba Ba had just moved from Newcastle to join Chelsea.

The Ghana striker is menacingly rubbing his hands as he gears up to feature in his first Shanghai derby next month.

“I have experienced in many places derby match,” Gyan said.

In the Sunderland and Newcastle derby I had a last-minute goal.

“Derby is for professional players a very wonderful experience, scoring in the derby feels great.

“I think I cannot wait to be playing in next month’s two derby, it will be the entire season really big scene.”
