Ghana’s Worlp Cup hero Asamoah Gyan is being linked with a possible move to Blackburn Rovers amidst uncertainty over his future with current club Rennes.
Having made his desire to move to England clear, the 24-year-old striker has sparked a bidding war among Premier League clubs with West Ham, Newcastle and Rovers all potential targets.
The Ghanian said: “I must return to Rennes and talk to my leaders to know what could happen.”
“If a club makes an offer, we will sit around a table and decide. I will not go into battle. Stade Rennais must decide, because I still have two years of my contract with them,” he continued.
With Gyan’s excellent World Cup having drawn significant attention to the player, the price tag for the striker will almost certainly be articficially inflated by Rennes. Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has been critical of the World Cup’s effect on transfer fees.
Gyan has scored 14 goals in 47 games since joining Rennes in 2008 and has bagged 22 for his country in 44 appearances.
