A few hours ahead of his team’s anticipated game against Al Ain, UAE’s Al Jazira coach Franky Vercauteren hailed the opponents’ Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan for his outstanding performances this season.
"Yes, at this moment Gyan is the most efficient in the league. Efficient is of course the most important," Vercauteren was quoted as saying by Kickoff.com.
The Ghana striker, who is set to spearhead Ghana’s attack during the African Cup of Nations next month, abruptly left Sunderland to join United Arab Emirates side Al Ain on a season-long loan worth £6 million in September.
Gyan has scored six league goals with Al-Ain in as many games following his move, and the coach of defending champions, Al Jazira, believes the 26-year old player will make his team’s mission difficult when they face al ain tomorrow.
"He is very, very dangerous, especially with his finishing. He is using his qualities with a very high level to make a difference for his team,” explained Vercauteren.
"That's all you look at as a coach. How efficient is my player and what does he bring to the team. And I think what Gyan brings is very important to Al Ain,” added the Belgian ciach.
