Gyan's Fenerbache Move is Off

Ghana World Cup star Asamoah Gyan has opted to stay at Stade Rennes , disappointing Turkish club Fenerbahçe.

L'Equipe quoted Rennes general manager Pierre Dréossi as saying that the French club had "broken off contacts" and had received no formal offer from the Istanbul outfit.

"But we wouldn't necessarily be able to afford to refuse a good offer," he stressed.

The decision will come as good news to West Ham and Liverpool, since Rennes were said to be willing to offload Gyan in order to fund the purchase of Nice striker Loic Remy , who is wanted by the two English sides.
