Liverpool legend John Barnes says Asamoah Gyan has some way to go before he can be considered among the best strikers in the world.
The former England international, in Accra on a charity mission, admits Gyan has improved massively in recent years, but says he still has a lot of work to be done.
“Asamoah Gyan is not yet at the level of a Didier Drogba or a Samuel Eto’o, but it doesn’t mean he can’t get there,” Barnes told GHANAsoccernet.
“He is young and works very hard for the team but must do even more to match-up to the best strikers in the world.”
