Gyan suffers injury in Sudan game

Asamoah Gyan was pulled out of Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Sudan with an injury.

The Al Ain attacker failed to recover from a suspected ankle problem in the 50th minute and was subsequently replaced by Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.

Gyan had given the Black Stars the lead in the 19th minute after he tapped in from close range.

The latest set-back has left Abdul Majeed Waris operating as a lone-striker and scored on his debut.

The 27-year-old passed a late fitness test to play in the crucial qualifier at the Baba Yara stadium after he picked up a problem in his right thigh.

The Black Stars after the victory are still one point adrift group leaders Zambia who drew at Lesotho earlier.

The black Stars beat the Nile Crocodiles by 4 goals to nil.
