Gyan turns booing fans into chanting supporters at Stars training

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan produced leadership magic when he turned some booing fans at the Black Stars training into chanting supporters by stopping training and approaching them to plead for their support ahead of Saturday’s match against Uganda.

The UAE-based attacker was forced to move into the stands to engage some supporters who had targeted some players with insults during their training session at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.

The fans were obviously unhappy with the performance of some players during the World Cup and turned against those players with insults.

With their voices getting high and disrupting the training, Gyan moved up into the stands to call them for a chat that resulted in the fans breaking into applause for the captain and then the Black Stars.

Gyan’s engagement paid immediate dividends with the fans quickly singing the praises of the players and applauding them for their efforts during the training.

Ghana will continue their training with two sessions at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Wednesday with morning and evening hot sessions planned.
