Gyan wants to return in December

Footy-ghana.com investigations have revealed that Al Ain striker Asamoah Gyan told Black Stars head coach Kwasi Appiah that he would return to the team in December.

According to impeccable footy-ghana.com sources, this occurred when Appiah travelled to see Gyan in Dubai.

Footy-ghana.com understands that when Gyan told Appiah that, Appiah explained that it would be necessary for Gyan to join the team now for proper assessment to be made before the 2013 African Nations Cup.

According to our sources, Gyan then told Appiah that he would think about it, which prompted the head coach to leave him out altogether of the recently named 30-man squad.

Footy-ghana.com has learnt that should the called up strikers in the squad live up to expectation, it might prove problematic for Gyan to break back into the Black Stars squad.

The on-loan Sunderland striker retired temporarily from international football soon after the 2012 African Nations Cup after what he described as incessant abuse hurled at him and his family for missing a penalty in the semifinal match against Zambia.
