Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in powerful Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah after Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively made the revelation this week.
Ghana's leading soccer news outfit Ghanasoccernet.com revealed on Wednesday that the English Championship side have turned the attention on the combative Torino midfielder after losing out on compatriot Emmanuel Agyemang Badu.
The Blues tabled an €8 million offer for the Ghanaian, which has been turned down by the Italian outfit.
And City manager Harry Redknapp has admitted he is tracking the highly-rated Ghana workhorse alongside Nigerian Ogenyi Onazi.
“Another good player, Ghanaian boy, strong, aggressive, good midfield player," Redknapp said.
“It would probably be one or the other. You have got to see what you can get - and if you can get them both you have got to make a decision.
“If you can only get one, you take him and if you can’t get any - you just pray. We are trying to get one of them in.”
Redknapp has brought David Stockdale, Marc Roberts and Cheikh Ndoye to St Andrew and is looking forward to adding more bite.
