Former Hearts of Oak chairman, Harry Zakkour believes Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor will succeed if Ghanaians are patient with him.
Akonnor was named as the new head of the technical team of the Black Stars by the country’s football association in January.
He has been tasked to ensure the team wins the next edition of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament as well as qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“You know he has coached Hearts of Oak before, he has coached Goldfields before, and he has coached Kotoko before.
"You see, we don't have patience. When a coach loses one or two, three matches in this country they want to fire him.
“We should give him time. Football is not like before”, the experienced football administrator said in an interview on GTV Sports Plus.
Coach CK Akonnor is expected to play his first match with the Black Stars when CAF gives the clear for qualifying matches to the next AFCON to be played.
