Hasaacas Beat AshantiGold 1-0

At Sekondi, Sekondi Hasaacas beat visiting AshantiGold 1-0 in their GT Premier league match at the Sekondi Gyandu Park. Moses Andoh scored the lone goal for the home team in the 52nd minute. The first half was full of action with Hasaacas who made an early abortive attempt at goal in the third minute.

The early scare gingered AshantiGold to dramatically change the pattern of play as they moved out of their defensive posture at the start of the match to suddenly plunge into action and moving aggressively into the goal area of Hasaacas.

The home supporters called for an early goal and this propelled Hasaacas to step up their pressure to counteract the attacks of AshGold. Despite their determination to carry the day, Hasaacas failed to take advantage of the scoring chances that came their way in 39th and 41st minutes to the displeasure of their supporters.

Back from the recess, AshGold began an attack but Hasaacas played tactically to stop their opponents in their tracks and in the 51st minute, they counter-attacked and in the 52nd minute, Moses Andoh took advantage of a lapse in the defence of AshGold to blast a shot into the net for the only goal of the match.

The goal did not discourage AshGold and in their effort for an equaliser they earned a free kick just outside the penalty area of Hasaacas in the 65th minute but the kick taken by Anthony Baffoe went wide of target.

At the Tema Sports Stadium , Power F/C deepened the woes of bottom club, Kpando Heart of Lions when they beat them 1-0 in their GT Premier League match.

The match which was started on a fast note, saw Lions making several incursions into their opponents vital area but failed to utilise two clear chances which came their way in the 30th and 36th minutes as Dramani Hamidu and Isaac Morgan missed the target.

When the second half resumed Lions surprisingly recoiled into their shells and allowed Power to dominate play.

It therefore came as no surprise when substitute Moses Abban who came in for Wisdom Agbeko netted the only goal for Power in the 80th minute

After the goal Lions threw everything into the game but the defence of Power pivoted around Mohammed Bello, Odartey Lawson and Alex Dzanie thwarted all their efforts at goal.

Coach Bashiru, Head Coach of Power in a post-match interview with the GNA Sports described the match as a normal league match. He said he expects their next match with Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Kumasi to be a titanic one and that he would do everything possible to ensure that his team wins.

Coach J.E Sarpong of Lions however blamed his boys for conceding the defeat.

He said if his boys had worked extra hard, victory would have come their way and gave the assurance that the Club would perform better in their subsequent matches.
