Sekondi July 1 GNA - Premier Division side, Sekondi Hasaacas drew goalless with Wise Fighters, a First Division side in a friendly football match at the Sekondi Gyandu Park to mark the 45th Republic Day Anniversary.
The Western Regional Coordinating Council arranged the match with a cup and cash prizes at stake.
Hasaacas dominated play throughout but the Wise Fighters put up a brilliant performance to hold them at bay. The best moment for Hasaacas came in the 30th and 65th minutes but the attackers failed to utilise the chances that came their way. Mr Joseph Boahen, Western Regional Minister presented each of the teams with four million cedis each but regretted that none of them was able to lift the Cup.
He said the Regional Coordinating Council was resolved to promote football development in the Region.
Present at the match were the Deputy Regional Minister, Madam Sophia Horner-Sam and officials of the Regional Football Association and the two Clubs.
