Black Stars skipper Thomas Partey has passed a vote of confidence in coach Otto Addo, describing him as a brilliant tactician with the tools to achieve success with Ghana.
The Black Stars take on Angola in the opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, and Partey has been speaking to the press ahead of the match.
The 30-year-old had high praise for Otto Addo, commending him for his attention to detail and ability to predict happenings in matches.
Partey is convinced without a doubt that Otto Addo is destined for the top in his coaching career and that Ghana will benefit greatly from it.
“He [Otto Addo] has his ideas, and he makes them very clear. He makes sure everyone knows what he wants to do, and he translates that to the players. The technical team is always ready to help him, so I think he is on a good journey. He is the one we have to look up to because he has experience, he has played in this team, and he knows everything around the team and what the team needs. We have to follow him because he has the best ideas,” Partey told SuperSport.
Thomas Partey also assured the players’ readiness to do their best and win the game for Ghana.
“I think it will be difficult games, but we have a good team. I have not watched our opponents, but we have played against them, and we know how difficult it is to play in Africa,” the 30-year-old told SuperSport.
“I think we don’t have to be favorites but rather go out and show our quality, do our best, and try to win because all we need is to qualify. If we don’t win, we don’t get to qualify, so we have to go all out and win,” he added.
Kick-off for the game against Angola is scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
