Former Ghana assistant coach George Boateng has heaped high praise on Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, acknowledging the former Atletico Madrid player’s qualities both on and off the pitch.
During his time with Ghana, Boateng had the opportunity to work with Partey during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and has since held him in high regard.
Boateng, who worked closely with Partey during his tenure with the Black Stars, described the player as not only talented on the pitch but also deeply committed to humanitarian causes in his home country, Ghana.
In an interview with Tribal Football, Boateng praised the midfielder for his contributions both on and off the field.
According to Boateng, Partey’s humanitarian work makes him a better person, while his footballing qualities make him an invaluable asset for Arsenal.
“Partey is a lovely guy who lives his life in a very humanitarian way and does a lot for the community in Ghana. You can talk to him; he has a very good understanding of society, and he shows immense respect to the coaches and his teammates.
"As a player, Thomas has done unbelievably well. He is such a valuable asset to the club, and when Arsenal plays without him, you can see the difference,” Boateng told Tribal Football.
Partey has made 17 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, providing two assists and scoring two goals.
With two goals, the 31-year-old is just one shy of his best-ever scoring tally in the Premier League.
However, a move could be on the horizon for the 31-year-old, as reports indicate that Barcelona is interested in bringing him to Spain.
