Former England player Jamie Redknapp has lauded Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo, labelling him as an absolute star.

Redknapp could not hide his admiration for the Ghanaian following an exceptional performance for Bournemouth in their stalemate against Newcastle United.

Redknapp asserted that Bournemouth would earn significant money from Semenyo's sale in the future because he has the qualities of an elite player.

"Bournemouth was the better team and with Semenyo on the right wing, he is an absolute star. And I don't want to be selling Bournemouth's players but we've got a few days in the window. He cost 10 million from Bristol. What a great signing he was. He is worth a fortune. He is such an elegant, graceful, and powerful player. He's got everything, that young man," he told Sky Sports.

Antoine Semenyo, who played the full 90 minutes, assisted Tavernier to put the home side ahead in the first half, but a second-half goal by Anthony Gordon restored parity as both teams went on to share the spoils.

The Black Stars striker finished last season as Bournemouth's second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 8 goals. He was awarded a contract extension in the summer, signing a five-year deal.
